New to Lily Mercer, My Favourite Thing asks rappers, producers and singers regularly featured on the website to talk about one of their favourite things. First up, Bay Area-hailing, New York based female rapper, Gita. Dropping her video for the DJ Two Stacks-produced track Hood Rich at the top end of 2012, Gita’s gone on to feature on Fools Golds’ Loosies and collaborate with Darq E Freaker. Now she tells us about one of her favourite things…

“The item I like the most at the moment that I own would be my Hello Kitty jumbo face make-up kit.

I believe it’s from Sephora, my Mother purchased it for me as a gift so it makes it even more special, she knows I’m a wana-be girly girl. It’s made out of aluminium metal with the Hello Kitty signature bow tie and her face is lacquered in a pretty shiny black. It has lip gloss and eye shadow with a teeny brush that is labeled ‘Hello Kitty’ in red font.

I chose this item as a personal favorite because I’ve been a Hello Kitty fan/consumer since I gotten exposed to it from my Mother’s sister and older girl cousins of mine. It started out with wallet’s that had that cheap stuffing in them, then note pads, stationary stuff, bed room stuff, etc. My obsession hasn’t faded since. I am older and I’ve toned it down a bit. One thing’s for sure, when I travel that Hello Kitty jumbo compact is going into my luggage.”
